Something I think should be added, is something that would help against unfair match ups.
Today, I got paired up with Flo's Manshaft, who is 9th in the world (For the record I'm currently 44th)
First, in the morning I got paired with him, and he smacked me around. Loss for me.
Then, few hours later I got paired with him again, and just like last time, he completely dominated me.
But that's not enough, for a 3rd time, he faced me again, and surprise, he beat me, again.
I think the system should be automated to understand that a match up is unfair like this. Like after the first 2 beatdowns, it should have avoided him for a 3rd, since I obviously couldn't even compare. (For reference, in the 2nd and 3rd match I used boosters, still couldn't win at all)
This is widely a problem in the top 100. I can't stay there because Flo's Manshaft, who has 1118 NWL, beat me, someone who has 943 NWL, 3 times. I have no problem with Flo's manshaft, he is a great player. I have a problem with the system, if I'm clearly not a match for the guy, I shouldn't be paired up with him.

I do agree.
However, how long do you think the game should stop you playing the same person?

Not for a super long time. Maybe for like 2 or 3 games. Just so you get some sort of break.

Top 50-ish matches basically involve trying to keep motivation high for as long as possible before losing control of it.
Once you get 2 or 3 defeats in a row(not necessarily to the same team), you're going to have a hard time keeping up due to the stat losses caused by motivation. i've seen teams playing completely differently depending on their recent match history, and i've even ended up on that situation myself several times actually.
IMO you only faced some bad luck, or tried to queue for a match at an inconvenient time. From my experience, matchmaking finds the first opponent within a NWL band which gradually increases if no opponents are found, which, while eventually countering near-infinite waiting times for teams in sparse NWL zones(mostly top ranks, although i've met another sparse zone at 400~600 points while gaining NWL), leads to issues when no match is found for a very long time. Originally i thought the system's match range increase function grew up linearly, but now it seems to grow in a logarithmic fashion.

I don't really agree with that ra2lover. I was at about 950 NWL, 44th in the World, and I was only searching for maybe 5 seconds and got paired up with Barbiecore. Who has about 400 More NWL then me.

That means Barbiecore had been waiting long enough to be paired to a 950 NWL Team. What he said is correct, although I do believe there is a linear range increase of 1% per minute. At least there was when I was told the system by the developers,

Those who got 1100 NWL, there is hard to get opponents. Was in top10 at last week, I waited approximately 20mins for each match. And if there was someone other playing in top10, then I played like 5 of 6 last games with him.

Sometimes you win... and every time you play against a better ranked team you win more XP so you should be grateful not complaining

i thought XP gained had to do with ingame neuron actions, not NWL directly.
