What are the differences between the goalkeeper 6 and 7 AI chips? I have a lvl 18 bot that's been sitting on a GK3 and its time to upgrade. Do I go with the GK6 or GK7?

You can hardly tell the difference, 4 and 5 are pretty poor but everything above will do as long as you put the right stats. Stats have more influence on how you're neuron behaves than a gk6 7 8.
I would still go gk7 any day, you can then skip gk8 and once you reach the real high level put gk9. Skipping upgrades several level is a good thing to do because it saves you credits.

while lower level GKs rely on pushing power to prevent goals from being scored, higher level ones need a good deal of acceleration and speed to be able to intercept the ball before it gets too close.

Gk2-bad gk3 doesn't block accuracy Gk3 descent, doesn't try to eject can be useful if you specialize in a non ejecting goalie Gk4- gk3 with slight bad aim ejecting - bad unless high acceleration stats to compensate for bad accuracy Gk5 elects but cannot aim very well, misses the ball frequently, 2nd worst gk next to gk2 Gk6- good accuracy except off wall bounces Gk7- better at wall bounces than 6 Gk8- can't tell if better than 7 Gk9- seems better than 7 not sure why exactly Gk2-gk5-gk4-gk3-gk6 is the order of usefulness in my opinion

gk9 tries to intercept the ball by moving perpendicular to it when it can in order to improve coverage.
