It is obvious from the start that they invented the 3 different categories to fit together in certain combinations (whether it worked out this way or not is another matter)
for instance, the br-ba was obviously designed for the kicker AI The U-Pu might have been designed to match the GK/defender AI to make them tougher. The helium battery that is notoriously bad was probably designed for strikers, to make them faster
The cheap optical processors are designed to minimise battery use. The nanotube appear to be again designed to line up nicely with the striker AIs
There are some cool combos out there that were probably thought out when the game first was programmed.
I would LOVE to see some more parts. like, another 5 or 10 of each of the three components. Hell even a 4th component would be pretty awesome (dno what it would be but it would make things interesting for a while)
I feel all secrets are known right now and we need some spice to keep everyone interested

The U-Pu might have been designed to match the GK/defender AI to make them tougher. When I used a U-Pu on my GK, it completely ruined the team as any time a ball was bouncing from the wall towards the goal, GK would always miss it due to the severe lack of speed/acceleration. The H-He battery would actually be alright for a GK, at least at saving the balls coming towards it. Might be poor at blocking from near the corners when the massive 'fights' happen
