'Captain' AI could allow a neuron to change the way it plays, while playing.
If a team is leading during the match, the Captain could go into defence, and help keep the lead by not allowing the other team to score. If behind, the Captain could become a Striker and help catch back up.

i thought utility AIs did that already. They don't adapt during the match. They just sort of follow the ball around.
