NWL Points are used to rank teams in order and to find suitable opponents for matches.
The starting amount of points is 100 and you can not go under 100. The amount of NWL Points you lose or gain after a match is based off 3 things: - The result. (Draw/Loss/Win) - Goals (How many goals did a team win by) - The difference in NWL Points before the match.
If a team gains 20 NWL Points after a match, the opponent will lose 20 NWL Points. The gain by one team is cancelled out by the loss in points by another team.
A range is used to find suitable opponents for matches. When a player presses the "Ready" button, Neuronball searches for another team within a 10% Range of the teams NWL Points. For example, a team with 500 NWL Points, 10% = 50. Therefore Neuronball will search for another team between 450* (500-50) and 550 (500+50).
If there are no potential opponents, the range will increase by 1% per minute. So after 5 minutes of waiting, the search will be for teams within a 15% Range.
*I am not sure how correct this is as a team with 450 NWL Points would not find a team with 500 NWL instantly, as 500 is not within the 10% range for the team with 450. (10% of 450 = 45. 450+45=495. 495<500). However there have been many occasions where I have instantly been matched against a team who are not within my 10% range, as they have been waiting a while.

it should be much more slower than 1% per minute i guess
The Cobra record is 1h40 for something around 40%

not very important a Loss = -1 NWL point, but a win or a draw seems to have 0 NWL
the goal the winner is conceding is the most important 0 goal and a win = +22 points NWL for NWL equivalents before the match 1 goal conceded or more => depends of the score : 1-25 will give 21 points 1-3 --->16, same thing if 2-6 or 3-7 1-2 ---> only 14, same thing if 3-5 5-6 ---> only 12 i think that's the lower points for same NWL meeting i will give the exact score formula later, it's not as simple as i was believing
fundamental if the winner had a NWL lower he will have bonuses points i the winner had a NWL upper he will have a malus points
the bonus/malus point is given by the empiric formula : (NWL1-NWL2)/17 (remember loser will have an extra -1 point)
ie 750 NWL vs 801 NWL => 51/17=3 bonus points 750 win 1-0 => 22+3 = 25 points win 750+25 -> 775 and 801-> 775 too (next meeting no bonus)
if 801 win 2-1 => 14-3 = 11 points win 801+11->822 and 750-12->738
You may understand it's very diffcult for very high NWL to progress, because they get few NWL points and may lose a lot in only 1 match (Cobra told me he lose 60 NWL points, that's possible with 1-0 score 22+38 if the difference of NWL is about 38*17=646NWL, possible when you have 1500 and wait all the night to be beaten (without supp you are asleep for a while) by a 854

That's not true (the loser will have -21) for NWL <550 there is a limit for what you can lose
from 100 to 550 NWL the loser will lose less point from my datas 100-103 you don't lose any point 104-130 you lose 1 point max 131-143 you lose 2 points max 144-178 you lose 3 points max 179-198 you lose 4 points max 199-213 you lose 5 points max 214-238 you lose 6 points max etc...
the empiric formula : max NWL lose = (NWL loser-100)/25
for NWL > 550 no more compensation, you will lose 1 point more than the winner will get
but it's difficult to lose more than 27 points except for the top 20 because you meet the player around your NWL (0.9 - 1.1)

while a draw result, the (NWL1-NWL2)/17 formula is the only points you get in more or less

Olnb give to me the solution for scores, it's again a % (goals the winner scores) / (total goals scored), it's why if you win 1-0 it is the same than if you win 48-0
match NWL1 vs NWL2, NWL1 wins Next NWL : Next NWL1 = previous NWL1 + MAX(MAX((NWL1-NWL2)/17;-18)+22*goals scored by NWL1/total goal;0) Next NWL2= previous NWL2 - (Next NWL1 - previous NWL1) -1
ie NWL1=1541, NWL2=1230 wins 9-4, no changes because -311/17<-18 and 22*9/13=15.23<18
NWL1=1401, NWL2= 1197, wins 8-0 => -204/17+22=10 => NWL1=> 1411, NWL2=>1186
NWL1=1033, NWL2=1128, wins 5-1 => 95/17+22*5/6=24 => NWL1=>1057, NWL2=>1103
i guess this formula is not yet the good one because not enough simple, but it is working often enough !

for draws there is only Next NWL1 = previous NWL1 + MAX(MAX((NWL1-NWL2)/17;-18)
(not sure about the -18 limit)

A non playing player lose 2.75 NWL a day (maybe a little more i we dont lose anything for 1 or 2 days)
